The design and functional organization of the shipping company headquarters was based on the simple arrangement of the office areas on both sides of a linear circulation core.
The aesthetic attributes of the materials were stressed out. The basic elements were three: full-height borderless glass screens with sandblasted decorative patterns, polished stainless steel for the ceilings, and black granite for the floors. The furniture, as well as the elements for artificial lighting, was designed to balance the “hardness” of the basic materials, while a sense of transparency and a “play” of reflections enriched the final result, thus widening the dimensions of the closed areas. In conclusion, a special construction was provided for the round furniture in the reception area, with alternations of light coloured wood and black lacquer.
