The building of a shipping company is located on the port front and faces three streets. The primary principle was the continuous development of two main façades with a chamfered corner.
The blending of intentions and specifications is marked on the widening of the front elevation, with the creation of a quasi “fourth façade” which results from the chamfering of the main body and its partition in two sections by a vertical indentation. The design dealt with the complex detail connecting the two individual corner volumes, which is based on an L-shaped column.
The design provided for a bank branch office with mezzanine floor on the elevated ground floor. The access is on the base of the chamfer. On the main façade, in contact to the party wall, there is an independent entrance to the storeys of office areas. The design included a restaurant and a large conference hall on the first floor, the management offices on the last floor, and a roof with metal canopies, a wooden deck and planted areas, where outdoor events can be hosted.
