In the heart of Maroussi, in a property that carries its own history since the 1990s, a new chapter has taken shape. Where a three-story office building with an exhibition space on the ground floor and auxiliary areas in the basement once stood, a new wing has now emerged.
It is a contemporary building, autonomous in its function yet harmoniously connected to the existing structure through a shared architectural language. Externally, a gentle integration into the environment and the style of the existing building was sought, with white aluminum panels covering the façades of both buildings. Vertical exterior roller shades made of white perforated fabric have been incorporated into the design of the new building’s façades.

The most distinctive feature of the new wing is the internal solar atrium. Glass bridges cross it at different points on each level. Planting elements on both vertical and horizontal surfaces enhance the biophilic design, while tiered benches were designed to encourage employees to make full use of the space.
As part of the bioclimatic design, skylights have been included to ensure cross ventilation and night-time cooling. External shades meet the shading needs of the atrium.
Internally, the atrium's north-facing side is defined by its strong transparency, while on the opposite side—receiving maximum sunlight—a full height wooden structure with niches and cutouts covered with sound-absorbing panels has been created to ensure a pleasant stay in the space.
Respecting the character of the existing building, we chose a gentle approach to the design of the surrounding area: perimeter tree plantings frame the already developed environment, enhancing the natural transition from the old to the new.
